First I want to thank you all for making this year so much fun by visiting the Simply Sassy blog, leaving us sweet comments and joining in on our blog hops..

We will now take a Christmas break to spend more time with our family,

as you all know Christmas is a hectic time for many of us with extra hours spent at work and making our homes ready for the holiday♥

Erica has left the team to spend more time doing other things.

And she has been a joy having with us sharing her gorgeous creations and tutorials!

Alina has also had her last post as a guest designer, thank you Alina for sharing your unique style with us!

What next year will bring for the rest of us is at planning stage right now so you will have to watch out for what will be coming in the new year!

Hello Sassy fans! I hope your Monday is off to a good start. Today is my last post of this year and I have two projects to share with you. First, I have Cinders who I thought would be great for this...

Thank You card I needed for someone. I've used some wonderful MME papers and colored her up to match.

I also wanted to take the opportunity to Thank you all for stopping by every day and leaving us such wonderful comments. You guys are the best!

Secondly, I've made this...

little tag with Domestic Goddess. I've been known to hand out the baked goods now and again so I thought a tag would come in handy. This is also the first time I've made a tag of this sort I'm happy with,yay. It's still not quite as good as some, but I'll keep working on it.

A pocket and a tag

Happy friday Sassy fans!

For today I have two projects to share. Talking about having a great finish before I go on a little christmas break...

For my first project I have used

Domestic Goddess.

She seems to be sold out at the moment but I guess she will be back soon.

I have made a little pocket with this image, that I put a recipe card into. Those recipe cards were bought at Hallmark and I love them since they are such a beautiful and easy way to share the recipe of your favourite cookies and hand it out with some of them.

I was lucky enough to have the perfectly matching paper for that card and also by coloring the image I used the beige and blue from the recipe card.

Since I think most of us store their recipe cards like I do - in a cupboard in the kitchen - I thought that too bulky embellishments would make it harder to store it. So I only went with some lace and that Yum Scale stamp by Stampin' Up.

To the recipe card itself I added a little ribbon and that little spoon charm.

And these are the Copics that I colored the image with:

Okay, I have been talking about two projects so here's my second one today.

I got inspired by all those beautiful tags Maria made and decided to try one myself.

I used

Tease Me

on it. I actually got the idea of putting this gift together from looking at the stamp. It's not really a christmas present but a little something to be handed out before so the recipient can prepare herself for a "beautiful christmas".

I went with a white and red color combo here since the bottle of body lotion was the first thing I bought and I loved its deep red color...

For coloring this image I used these markers:

Hello wonderful Sassy fans! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! My weekend went by in a flash! Can you believe how quickly Christmas is coming upon us. I think very few people are getting Christmas cards this year :( How about you, are you on top of your Christmas card list?

Today's share isn't Christmasy, but perhaps it could give you an idea for a little Christmas gift. I've made a little door hanger...

...using the wonderful Tease Me. I live in a house with four boys and even though I've taught them manners they refuse to use them, so I really could use one of these myself,lol I've kept it pretty simple since it does have the possibility of getting knocked around...I figure the less is there the less likely it is to get ruined, but I've used some fun bright colors and of course lots of pink! The words say" Primping...Do not disturb!" and were computer made. Guess that about explains her. So I'll be heading out, but make sure to stop by later to see what Alina has to share with you!

Hello Sassy fans and welcome to another inspiration post.

For today's card I have inked up

Cinderella.

She's adorable and so much fun to color! With all the pleats in her dress you really can bring this image to life - and this without much work.

I have chosen a blue, white and black color scheme for her since I think this is a really elegant combo and fits her wonderfully.

I used a die cut sheet on the right side of the card and a glimmery paper for the swirl and butterfly. And the princess charm was the perfect finish for this card.

I also want to share with you another card that I made - and I used

Book Club

here:

The colors I used here are totally different and so much more vibrant. She reminds me of a girl I know and she always wears blue hair - totally or just in parts. That's why I did blue hair here. And she was just screaming for more color so I combined a dark pink with the blue. This is a color combo I rarely use but if I do, it has to be bright and shiny!LOL

The big flower matched that pink perfectly and the bird brad has been sitting in my drawer forever. I guess it was waiting for this special card.

The saying is by Stampin' Up.

Both images have been colored with Copics, and these are the ones I used (I guess you can tell from the pictures which were used for which card, right? LOL):

You Make My Life Sweet

Hello to all you Sassy friends. Today I've used the beautiful Domestic Goddess. This stamp is out of stock at the moment but I'm sure Funky Kits will have more in the shop soon.

I used my Distress Inks to color this sassy girl. I added a doily and some punched flowers with little pearls. My twill ribbon is some I've had forever. It always feels good to finally find a use for something you've had in your stash a long time, doesn't it?

And, I also have a second card to share with you today. Another fabulous image from the latest Simply Sassy release.

This is Cinderella and you can find her over at Funky Kits. Isn't she beautiful? I think her pretty face just looks so sweet and innocent. She's also colored with Distress Inks and I added some Glamour Dust to her little tiara and the bows on her shoes. I added some punched flowers with pearls and some die-cut hearts with Glamour Dust.

*Start by telling us a little about you:

Well, how to cut down 43 years in a paragraph...lol! In short, I am married to Steve (been together for over 14 years) and we live in a small village in East Sussex in the South East of England with our two Yellow Labradors, Poppy (4) and Lulu (2). Work-wise I am a project manager based in Central London. We do a lot of walking and spend a lot of time with our families. Our dream is to emigrate and own a beach front house in New Zealand or Australia - perhaps one day!

*When did you start card making and what made you start?

I first became aware of cardmaking when a work colleague sold her cards at work. Then, when Steve and I decided to get married 4 years ago, I decided to make my own wedding stationery. I was very proud of it but looking at them now, I'm embarrassed! Hey, we learn and grow huh?!!

I love to watercolour using my Aqua Promarkers, but I end up using my Copics for ease!

Well it was Spread Your Wings - I just love the whimsical look on her face with her huge thoughtful eyes! But I bought the November set #11 and now my fave has to be Cinders!

*How did you notice the Simply Sassy stamps the first time?

I was already a regular customer of Funky Kits so when Simply Sassy popped into the shop, it was love at first sight!

*What is your favourite style (card making)?

I love to experiment so my style can vary a lot from clean lines to shabby chic. The most common theme though through all my cards is lots and lots of layers!

Hello Sassy Fans! I hope you all had a lovely weekend. It was Thanksgiving here this past Thursday and then Black Friday shopping commenced...earlier this year than ever, and yes, I headed out at 8pm Thursday evening not to return until 7am the next day! Boy, was I exhausted! Needless to say I now definitely have Christmas on the brain,lol. Our tree is up and in need of some presents!

That being said I decided I would use the special Season's Greetings stamp and make a tag or two. Well, I thought it would look better displayed on a gift and my tag turned into this...

...a pretty little gift box instead. I'm not really sure what happed, it just evolved...sometimes these things seem to have a mind of their own. But now I've got my first box ready for a present and it will be perfect for one of my sister's gifts.

Here's another view...

I love these pretty MME christmas papers. The lace and pearls are from my stash and the pearls are WOC. I was so lucky that I happened to have a jewelry gift box that I'd gotten for something else and didn't use.

Here's a closer view of Season's Greetings. I liked the idea of white hair for some reason, so considering there wasn't much else to color this really came together quickly...I think she's gonna end up on a lot of Christmas stuff.

a winter fairy

Happy friday dear friends!

I don't know about your area but here in my part of Germany the days have been cold and foggy. No snow yet, but I'd so wish for some! I have nearly done my christmas baking, the decorations are out and on sunday we can light up the first candle on the advent wreath, a german tradition where you light up one more candle each sunday until there are four the sunday before christmas eve. So some snow is all I am missing to get in christmas mood.

Well, they say there isn't any near so I thought I'd share a winter fairy card with you - maybe this will make her curious so she comes to my area to really see it?

I used the special "Season's Greetings" image here, the one you were only able to get when ordering the whole set last weekend. And I think it was sold out really fast.

I love this image. I can feel the frosty wind playing with her hair and for sure there are some tiny snowflakes dancing around her. So I tried to bring this on a card - there are swirls and snowflakes, of course some lace and frosty colors. I also put a frame from clear embossing powder around her. It's hard to see on the photo but it looks like a frozen window. And the white Distress Crackle Paint makes the frosty look perfect.

which is out of stock at the moment, but will no doubt be back soon! I have used only browns and a bit of red to colour on kraft and I'm fairly happy with the result :D. My apologies for the truly awful picture, but it's been fog, fog and more fog here the last few weeks (I've literally got my head in the clouds, walking on air, that kind of stuff ;o)) and it shows in the pictures!

Hello Sassy sweeties. Aren't these latest girls beautiful? It looks like you love them as much as the dt does!

I used Cinders on my card today and colored this lovely girl with distress inks. My colors turned out a bit brighter than my dp but I still think she looks pretty. I added some lace and ribbon, a handmade flower, and a little heart button. A very clean and simple card. I hope you get your Sassy girls out and get inky today.

I saw them on the club "Kaarten maken met Tiets" it is a Dutch forum about card making.

Today I've used the sweet ''Cinders'' on my card, coloured with Prisma pencils. The papers are some Making Memories scraps, the ''Love Struck'' collection, the flowers are made using a QuicKutz die, for the swirls I've used a Whiff of Joy die and I'm sorry but I can't remember where the sentiment comes from.

A Sassy Pencil Keeper

Hello Sassy fans!! WOW, what a turn out we had this weekend, you guys sure did love this release! Thank you so much for hopping along and for giving us all such kind comments. After a weekend full of inspiration I hope you can handle a little more.

Today I've decided to use Book Club. I really wasn't sure what I was going to make at first, but then I thought writing went along with books and whose to say one of those she's carrying isn't an art journal so this...

is what I arrived at. The pic really doesn't do it justice as it looks much better IRL. The tall one can hold your pencils and pens...maybe some scissors too and the small one is magnetic...great for those small fidgety things. Here's a view filled...

... just to give you an idea of the space. It took me a while to decide where best to put her, but in the end I figured she'd be least harmed in the back...things can get kind of crazy on my desk,lol. I've had these little clips for ages and thought they would be a perfect embellishment for hanging little notes. There's a little empty space in front there and I know they use to make tiny sticky pads, so I'm going to see if I can find one to put there. A few more embellies some stickles ( which you can't really see) and done.

I've used Simply Sassy Puppy Love from the Christmas collection.

I've cut her out with a circle nesting die and a scallop nesting die for frame,

she is colored wit my Copic markers and the dot's in the scallop is liquid pearl.

A magnolia die to stamp the sentiment on,

and the wreath is a rub-on from Melissa Frances also colored with Copic's

The paper is a old one by MME (My Minds Eye)

Snowflakes from Whiff Of Joy the pearls are from Prima and Kaisers Kraft

And the lid is also nesting dies and liquid pearl and the flower and pearl are from Prima.

another sneak for you

Happy friday everyone!

Are you as excited about tomorrow's new release as we are? I know you are.

So as a little treat I have another sneak to share with you today. Let me introduce you to

Picture Pose!

She's adorable and from the moment I saw her first I knew I want to make a picture frame with her. My twins love to have photo sessions with their friends, putting on their big sister's dresses and making cool pictures in different places and poses. Well, unfortunately there wasn't one that would have fit the image so I will have to tell them to copy her pose next time.

I made a card instead and to keep with the photo theme I added a little photo strip here.

These are the markers that I used to color her in that vintage looking pink and brown combo:

She is colored with my dear Copic markers and the paper is from Poppy design

I added some stickles to the tree and ground to make it nice and frosty.

And the snow flakes are Whiff Of Joy made with Doodlebug sugar Coated cardstock.

Start by telling us a little about you:
I am a work from home mom to three rowdy boys. With a very
supportive husband that doesn't mind me spending time with my crafts;
I think this will be the case until he finds out how much money goes
into buying paper and stamps...Hehehehe I am of Mexican descent and I
love my Mexican culture!

*When did you start card making and what made you start?
I started making cards to swap with my two cousins and sister. I had
never ever had done a card before; but it was fun and i really enjoyed
it. We did one card a month; but as life often gets in the way the
swap ended almost a year ago now. After having my third son and being
in a new home where I have my craft/office room I am way into making
cards and can't stop!

*What is your preferred coloring medium?
This is an easy one; Copics by miles!

*What is your fav Simply Sassy stamp?
I will have to say Pillow Talk since she was the one that caught my
eye and is the stamp that I have used the most out of all of my
stamps. I think that if I had Retail Therapy she would be a close
second; poor baby is still on my wish list!

*How did you notice the Simply Sassy stamps the first time?
I saw them on Autumn's blog and I think she is one of the first blogs
that I began to follow. I just fell in love with the BIG hair and
eyes.

*What is your favourite style (card making)?
Hummm this is a toughy; I don't think that I really have a defined
style other that I like to try new things. I like doing 3D projects
and love to embellish til I cannot embellish no more:0)

*And what would you love to see more of at the Simply Sassy blog?
I love the blog the way that it is! The only thing that I would love to
see more boy stamps(cuz I do have 3 of them) and cowgirl/cowboy images
would be a dream come true. I have told Krista this already and am
patiently waiting for that day; I know it will come!

Postitively Perfect Princess!!

Let's say that three times fast, lol. I hope you all enjoyed a lovely weeked. I was incredibly busy and it went by way too fast, but alas the show must go on!! I see you all enjoyed Erica's sneak for you yesterday and that sure was a beautiful card she made! As you may have guessed from the title I too have the pretty princess to share with you, but I've tried to make her different enough so you feel like it's really something new! So here in my rendition of Cinderella...

For those of you who follow my blog you know that I've recently ventured into distress inks. This is only my third distress ink creation, but I'm being brave and sharing it here as I wanted you all to see something different. I will get better at this, I promise. Sorry if this looks washed out to you, it actually looks quite the opposite in my editor, so I'm not sure what to do about that. (changed the pic, hopefully it's all better now)

I also wanted to take a moment to say Thank You to all of you for leaving comments. I don't often get enough time to return the compliment but I do read them and appreciate them and the time it takes you to leave them! You guys are the best!

Happy friday Sassy fans!

Today I have a christmas card to share that I didn't use those traditional christmas colors for but kept

it monochromatic in browns.

The stamp I used is

Secret Santa.

I just love her and that fluffy fur on her dress. I am a huge fan of fur - any kind of fur and almost every single piece of my clothes has it somewhere. My husband can tell you about it!LOL

Originally I had planned to add some snow pen to the fur but well, I ordered it and it didn't arrive in time. But honestly, I am quite happy about it because I like how it turned out the way it is now.

The banner and big postage stamp are by Whimsy Stamps. Well, I am sure you have to mark "nice" for this sweetie!

The papers are all older ones from my stash, there is DCWV and K&Company but I don't remember all the brands.

These are the markers I colored the image with (only numbers today since I colored this in when I was at

a stamp meeting with a bunch of lovely ladies where I only wrote down the numbers).

Hello Sassy friends. I hope you're having a fabulous week so far. I have made another Christmas card. I must say, it feels good to see my stack of Christmas cards grow.

Today I have used the beautiful All Wrapped Up. I added a diecut tree and snowflake corner, both with a dusting of crackle paint and Glamour Dust. I used glitter paint on the package bows and added a seam binding bow with a little sentiment tag. I hope this cutie makes you want to get your fingers inky today. *Start by telling us a little about you:
I am a 35 yr old wife & mother to 3 children. Funny when one asks to say a bit about themselves, we start with our age.....weird eh? I say eh, as I am from Canada (Manitoba actually) and I DON"T live in an igloo. My children are 10 yrs (girl), 4 yrs (boy) and 20 mnth old (boy). I also work as a part time Registered Nurse. I craft til the wee hours of the morning, so no one can bother me. haha! I'm sneaky like that!

*When did you start card making and what made you start?

Uhh...I blame it all on my neighbor & BFF. There I was merrily making my scrapbooks when she pops over and says "OMG you have to see this card I just made at card class".....the same card class I said NO to in the first place. Well, I was hooked. That was **thinking**.....2008.

One thing led to another, first came SU, then CTMH, then digis. What the heck was a 'digi'....EEK!!

Then I found blogland and well, the rest is history!

*What is your preferred coloring medium?
I color my faces and, as of recently, hair with copics. My copic selection is meager. LOL I gave hubby my Christmas list already....."copics"....done! I also color with watercolor pencils, blending stumps and baby oil. Nope the baby oil does not get the paper all oily. The blending stumps (dipped in baby oil soaked sponges) carries the color so nicely..my heart skips a beat just thinking about it. Not quite sure what I mean?....can't really picture it? see this post HERE on my blog.

oooo.......hhmmmm.........like just one?!! Well, since I only recently got addicted to them & I drool at each of the DT creations.....geesh...I'd have to say "High School Student".....& I don't even own her!!! Funny right?!! I thought the "So What" girl from the last set woulda got me, but rather my fave from that release is actually "Tiffany".

Donna Mosley. Yup. She was in the spotlight here & I thought "hey, that's a nice stamp"......what the heck am I missing right? One hop led to another hop & boom.....here I am! Buying each new release. (Another Christmas present list item) heehee

*What is your favourite style (card making)?
Embellish, Embellish, Embellish. Rule of thumb......if all else fails, embellish. No style imparticular, I like to try everything at least once including 3D items. In fact this is the first time I have attempted to make a cupcake! lol LOVE IT!! And just when I thought I came up with the cupcake idea all by my lonesome, I remembered seeing Kathrin's SCRUMMY sundae dish a short while ago!!

See....inspiration has seeped it's way into my brain!

Sassy Ornament

Hello wonderful sassy fans!! How are you this Monday? Well, I hope! We had a beautiful weekend here(minus the earthquake that scared the bejeebers out of me) and I hope yours was well too. I was thinking about what to make for today's post and I recently made a cute, simple , yet effective ornament that my kids will give as teachers gifts and I really wanted to make more...I actually had a lot of fun doing it. So, here it is...

and if you want to make your own like this you will need:

1 Sassy image(I used Puppy Love)

Spellbinders Nestabilities:

Large Circles-largest one

Lacey Circles-largest one

cardstock

lightweight cardboard(I recycled a waffle box)

ribbon/trim

glue

First you will need to cut and color or vice versa your stamped image with the large circle die. Second cut out one each of two different colors(or different shades of same color) and one cardboard piece with the large lacey die.

Choose which of the two colors will be the back color on your ornament and attach it to the cardboard piece...if your recycling like I did make sure the designed side is the one getting the tape as the other will be seen. Now place the remaining lacey piece evenly on top of that piece then turn until the colors are every other like this...

Now you can hold one side and tape the other then switch Next, center your image on top of your collective lacey pieces and tape down. Flip it over and apply a looped hanging string of sorts(ribbon or whatever) to the back. Next, again using the large circle die cut a circle out of your cardboard and place it centered on the back to hid the ribbon that doesn't need to be seen. If you used something a little thicker and have a pretty rounded trim and some pop up dots you can put the trim around the edge of the circle and the dots somewhere central before putting it on the back, like this...

Hello sweet sassy friends!

Well, the weather is getting colder and it's getting dark really early so is there anything better than snuggle on the couch with a blanket and read a good book? I love those winter evenings and all that's missing is the sound of the fire from a fireplace - unfortunately I don't have one so I have to imagine this.LOL

But to make reading even more fun I created a bookmark using on of the first Sassy stamps available. Unfortunately it is not up on the webshop at Funkykits at the moment so I am not able to give you a link

but the name of this cutie is Romantic Dreamer.

I made a paper rosette with quite flats pleats so the bookmark will fit in a book. I added some cheesecloth, some punched flowers, some distress ink and a few rhinestones.

The paper rosette was made from 2 square pieces of cardstock, folded every 1/8". Then two ends of one strip of folded cardstock have been put together to create a half circle - later the two half circles were brought together as a whole circle.

The back of my bookmark isn't too spectacular - I just used a large paper clip and only fixed it at the very top part so the bottom part still moves and a paper can be put in it.

I'm married with 5 children. Having that many kiddies helps to keep me just a little crazy.

*When did you start card making and what made you start?
I started card making around 6years ago, and it was a friend who turned up at my house with a quilling magazine that got me started. From there I went out and bought my very first crafting magazine, used up all of the freebies that came with it, and have been hooked ever since really.

*What is your preferred coloring medium?
I love my Copics unreservedly. I also have a large soft spot for Pencils and my Zest It blending oil. But Copics will always be my first choice and most used medium.

*What is your fav Simply Sassy stamp?
Hmmm... now this is a tough one for me. There are so many that I love! How is a girl to choose just one?! Okay, I think if I truly have to be pinned down to just the one Sassy, it would have to be Windswept. Because she looks how I would love to look after doing the school run. Instead of how we all look in real life. (I'm laughing here guys.)

I wasn't at all happy with the last card I made with this beauty, so she's been used for a retry ;o). Also, I got the new set in the other day and let me tell you: more scrumptiousness is on the way!!! So start saving them pennies, thank goodness Christmas is coming up right ;o)

I have used lots of die-cuts on this card and little else, as the busy paper combined with the die-cuts and the flowers make for a pretty full card I think. Also, I'm not one for "throwing" everything I have at a card and see what sticks, some people carry that off brilliantly but I'm not blessed with that talent ;o).

a light in the night

Hello Sassy Fans and happy friday!

The days are getting shorter and this comming weekend we will be changing the clock again to winter time which means it will be dark around 5 pm...

Well, I have never been a big fan of this (and how can you save daytime if you change the clock so it gets dark earlier? LOL) but well, it's also the start of the time where you can light up a candle in the afternoon and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee and some cozy family time.

Since I am really looking forward to this I got the idea of making a candle for my post today.
And could there be a better image than

Little Light of Mine

for this?

I stamped the candle on tissue paper once to melt it in the candle and a second time on normal cardstock to decorate the box with it.

The box was made from doublesided cardstock, behind the window I put some transparency.

These are the markers that I used to color the image -
I also colored the image on tissue paper with them, just trying to add as little color as possible since the color would bleed on the paper, but it blend wonderfully:

I'm trying to make as many as I can to decorate my Christmas gifts.

I'm planning white or kraft paper and have ordered 3 spools of different colors twine

and are going to make as many tags as I can manage..

Years ago i also did make cards. I was on a crafting weekend with a few ladies where i resumed my old hobby again. Now I'm a card-making addict!

Simply Sassy Snowglobe Tutorial

Hello Sassy Friends! Autumn here with your first Monday inspiration and I've made a special card and tutorial for you. I came up with a snow globe, shaker, easel card last year and I thought with Christmas upon us you all might enjoy some instructions for that. I also decided I would attempt a video for this and well, lets just say it's not perfect, but it's my first time, so please bare with me. First, here is...

Tammy in my rendition. I am so sorry for the terrible pics of this, but I was having problems with You Tube and by the time I could take the pics it was really dark out. I will take new ones tomorrow. Imagine with and some blue papers and you'll get the idea :)

Here are the templates you'll need and the background paper I made and used. Just click on these to make them normal sized and then save. I had a little trouble getting the back globe piece and the circle to match up, but that may just be my printer. If it happens to you, just match up the circle with the lower half of the back piece and you should be good to fo. My apologies in advance, I don't know why it just wouldn't work for me. Oh' also you want to cut on the outermost edge of the circle and the inside edge of the globe base.

*** edited to add*** I figured out how to make the shape in psElements, so the above is the correct size and shape. Cut along the outside lines and round the corners at the bottom and you're good to go. This is in PNG, but if it's needed in jpeg please let me know.

And now on to the videos. Yes, that's plural, as there are several steps involved, but none of them are longer than 10 min :) I will apologize in advance for the number of times I said "ok,so" apparently this has replaced "um" in my vocabulary and my dog and the kiddos got in the way a couple of times, but I just didn't have time to start all over. Oh' and let's not forget I said snow once and actually sounded like those people on FARGO...I couldn't believe that one!!! I really apologize for that!! Alright then, let's hope this works!!

Happy friday Sassy fans! Nice to see you today.

Before I tell you about my card I have to apologize for the bad picture. The weather is so ugly and it has been that dark all day long that I wasn't able to get a better one. And this one was still better than the ones I tried to make using a flash or lamp... I will exchange it as soon as possible!

Okay, so while the weather has been that naughty this little cutie decided to
write her letter to Santa. As you can see she needed a few tries - weather it's because she made a mistake like on the shown ore or weather it's because she just couldn't decide what to ask for...

As you can see did I use

here but used it for a christmassy card. I love to give stamps a different use by just adding some different decorations.
I also used two of the new Magnolia dies here and I really love the spruce twigs that I added a little glittered candy cane to.

A Sassy Fashionista!

Today's Inspiration goes back to almost the beginning of the Sassy's. I've used Fashionista found here with Laid Back Dude. I've used her alone, but they make a great pair. Here's my creation...

It's not heavily embellished as it actually opens by pulling that bow. It opens up to the brown paper layer and the doily. I got a little stuck with the inside, so I will try to post pics of it finished later.

cupcakes and sundaes

Hello Sassy fans and happy friday!

Today I am sharing a cupcake with you that I made for one of my girl's friend. It was her birthday and she asked for some money as the gift. Of course such a "boring" gift need an excitement packing.
While we were in Italy this summer and went grocery shopping I found these tin foil cups that also come with a plastic lid. Okay, it's kind of sad thinking of how I could use household stuff for crafting while I am at a grocery store in my vacation.LOL But I guess that's how we are, right!?

I used the

Sundae Service

and let the cupcake top match the coloring of my image.

The top of the cupcake is made from the half of a styroform ball that I glued to the lid. I painted it with white acrylic paint and added some white glitter to it. The top is made from brown velvet flock that I wanted to look like a chocolat covering.
To cover the rim of the half styroform ball I added some white ribbon to the edge that I glued down in little loops.
The cherry on top is made from a tiny styroform ball and some green wire.

You could use kraft papers and twine for gift wrapping nice and simple.

And then add a sweet homemade Christmas tag,

so perfect to use as a Christmas image too..

Hello Sassy friends. I have a very sparkly card to share with you.

Today I've used the beautiful Tiffany on my card. Oh, I think she's sooo gorgeous. I colored with my copics and colored pencils. There's Glamour Dust on the edges of my papers, on the heart doily, flowers, and on the butterflies. I've used so much Glamour dust on this card I'll probably be glittery for days! I added some pretty pearls and then made a little lace rosette with a pink heart button, to match the one she's wearing in her hair.

We live in the Netherlands.

I work 10 hours helping people who are old, or sick

with cleaning their house and just be there fort hem.

*When did you start card making and what made you start?
I think it was almost 14 years ago, when I bought a present for my daughter..a 3 D box.

I always did make clothes for her dolls and stuff(knitting), but 3 D cards were it!

I’ve worked some time for Nellie Snellen, she designs lovely dies, stamps etc.

Later on when we got a scrap store here in town,so I began making scrapcards.

I can’t choose between my copics and my prisma pencils.
Both are just great coloring mediums I think.,

I love Tammy with here glasses and Butterfly Girl.

I’m in the Sugar Nellie team, so in one of my packages I found some sassy girls!

At the moment I love making vintage cards, even Christmas cards I turn into vintage.

Hi ladies, it's nice to see you on this Monday evening and first of all I'd like to thank you again for the lovely comments!

I have a little project to share and meet ''Let's Hit the Town'' for the second time today (by the way, Autumn, your card is so beautiful!), I'm sure you won't mind! I've made this card for a young lady whose birthday was last week. The papers are from a First Edition Paper Pad, and the rest is Die-namics. The sentiments come from a MFT -''A la Modes'' set.

Hittin' the town!

Good Morning Sassy fans!! I hope you are all well today and got yourselves a nice relaxing weekend. Today I've used 'Let's Hit the Town'....

... coupled with some beautiful new Prima papers I got a couple weeks ago. I love her outfit here, but boy did I have a hard time making it work,lol. I had to color her twice!! Anyway, I thought these papers were perfect for the vintage shabby look so I tried to make that work.

I really love the light pink I managed, it's so soft and feminine. The dies I used for the cut-out behind her are Spellbinders and everything else was cut with my cricut.

Good morning Sassy fans, how are you all?! Over here the weather is okay, after experiencing some real autumn winds and rain over the last few days the weekend has brought some sunshine, which is unusual :D. Isn't it funny how us Dutchies (and the British too) always talk about the weather...oh well, gotta have something to complain about, right ;o)

Happy friday Sassy Fans! Nice to see you here.

Well, october has began and Halloween is coming. Usually we don't celebrate it here in Germany but it's getting more common now. And it can't hurt to have another reason to throw a party, right? And since my girls talked me into another Hallween party with their friends - not that it took them very long to talk me into it since I loved last year's party - I am totally in the Halloween mood now. Each day there are packages arriving full of body parts and other scary stuff. So is it a wonder that I have a Halloween card to share today?

It's not one of the scary ones - this witch is too cute to be scared of her. She's called

Best Witches

and just perfect for this time of the year.
To make her look at least a bit halloween-ish I gave her a green skin and purple eyes.

I also added some cheesecloth to the card again - to me this makes perfect spiderwebs and so it went wonderful with the paper I picked. And for a Halloween party you need a skull banner, right? I cut out single skulls from a MS border punch and put it on the banner.

A Sassy Tag

Hello Sassy fans. I hope you're having a fabulous week so far. I have been trying to get ahead with some of my holiday cards and packaging and thought I would make a tag with one of my lovely Sassy girls today.

This cutie is Secret Santa and she's available over at Funky Kits. I used my copics and colored pencils to color her and then added Fluffy Stuff to the fur on her outfit. I applied some Tim Holtz Distressed Crackle Paint around the edges of my papers to give them a frosty, snowy look. I've been seeing so many of you talented girls using cheesecloth and so I decided to give that a try too - hope it looks OK? My snowflakes are covered with Glamour Dust and then I added a little pearl to some of the larger ones. I think I will use this tag on my niece's Christmas package. She is a young teenager and just loves all these Sassy girls so I think she will really love this tag.

*Start by telling us a little about you
I am thirty years old and have been with my partner Ralf for 11 years now. We aren't married yet and we don’t have any children so far. But we do have 2 rabbits and 2 cats, so there is a lot of action around here anyway.
I work for a big IT company and am currently on my way to become a project manager. As I’ve never been the technical and science type, crafting is my way to balance myself and blow off all that creative steam I can’t use at work.

*When did you start card-making and what made you start?
I started card-making in January 2009. I actually never was much of a card-making fan, because I am not a huge fan of the 3D and decoupage style, which is still widely popular over here, but when I discovered some message boards and blogs where people shared their truly amazing works with stamps, I was hooked. Stamping really had everything I was missing with these other styles.
As for the reason why… probably because I like to make the things I give away myself. I have ever since I was a child. So I guess it was just a logical consequence that I would start making my own cards rather sooner than later.

*What is your preferred coloring medium?
Definitely Copic Sketch markers. I completed my collection in August and now have access to the full range of colors, which is absolutely amazing. (Though there are still colors that are missing from the range, can you believe that? LOL)
I also like to use my Prismacolor Pencils on Kraft Cardstock.

*What is your fave Simply Sassy stamp?
Now that question is just impossible to answer. I probably could name a favorite for each kit,

but out of all of them? Never.
But some of my favorites are: “Best Witches”, “Witches Cauldron”, “Winking Student”, “All Wrapped Up” and “Butterfly Girl”

*How did you notice the Simply Sassy stamps the first time?
It took me ages. I first discovered them when Kit 6 was released on a friend’s blog. But I was in love right away and have fallen harder and harder ever since.

*What is your favourite card-making style?
I guess it’s a quirky style. I like to add lots of embellishments like flowers, punched butterflies, flatback pearls, flourishes and the like.
I also love clean & simple, but I am very bad at this type of card, therefore I just admire others who are amazing at that style. :o)

I love the blog just as it is. Just one thing I’ve been missing for the last several weeks: the tutorials. I really hope they’ll be back soon, because they really were so inspiring and fabulous. :o)

The sweet ''OH La La'' is one of my favourite Simply Sassy stamps, she is coloured with Derwent pencils, the papers are from Maja Design - I love them, I would use them every day!!!-, sentiment from a MFT ''A la Modes'' set, the flowers, button and heart are made using Die-namics - what else! So What!

Hello lovely Sassy followers, hope your Monday is off to a good start! Autumn here with your first bit of inspiration for today and as the title shows I have 'So What' to share with you today.

I really saw her as being used for a CAS card and I found a great sketch over at CLP go help me incorporate that wonderfully. I found this fab paper in a MME pad and thought they would be perfect for her. The blue stuff is some self adheasive mesh I got ages ago and I don't know where it's from.

she was colored with copics(sorry I don't have those for you, I was working on to projects again), but if there's something you really want to know I can probably figure it out. The pink shading was done with pebbles chalks and I used a few gray prisma's for shading.

Hi Sassy fans, it's Sunday again which means it's me again :D! The weather this past week has been so gorgeous over here that I haven't found much time for crafting, and this little beauty has been begging to be finished for days! I'm quite pleased with how the colouring on kraft turned out :D!

I have used Let's Hit The Town and stamped her on kraft for a more vintage-y feel, as her clothes really remind me of a time that was yonks ago!

Hello dear Sassy-fans!
OMG, can you believe it's the last day of september? I guess we will start showing christmas cards here very soon!

For my card today I used another one of the new images, this cutie is called

Tiffany.

She was so wonderful to use and the card came together so easy.

I had to use some pink since she looks so girly with her wonderful skirt and that flower/ribbon in her hair. And to me the butterfly was the perfect thing to use with her.

When we went to a stamp fair here in Germany beginning of september my girls made a dangler for their cellphones. It's made from shrink foil and covered with a special epoxy liquid that dries under UV light and builds a scratch resistant surface to protect the image. Yep, you guessed it, I had to buy some of that epoxy stuff and so I decided to make a matching dangler from this cutie too:

She is colored with pencils and I got the colors I used on the card and the ones on the shrink foil matching really good. Unfortunately I was out of white shrink foil and had to use a semi transparent one so taking a picture of it is really hard. I had to put it on a white paper and take the picture in the sunlight...
On the star and the heart I tried coloring the foil with Copics - worked great but I need to work on it to be able to make shadows with them too.

Hello sassy fans! Today I have a card to share with you using Let's Hit The Town. She's one of the lovely sassy girls from the latest release.

When I saw this gorgoeus image I immediately fell in love with her outfit ... and then I looked down and saw those shoes! I love her shoes - they remind me of the shoes I wore when I was (much) younger ;) She is colored with copics and colored pencils and the papers are from Memory Box. I used some WOC flowers and added a sheer bow.
