Hello dear Sassy fans! It´s tutorial thursday and this is me, Kathrin, popping in
to share a little easter gift idea that you can make in a short time.
Here´s what you need:
cardstock,
patterned paper,
round Nestabilities or circle punch (or the good old scissors),
bonefolder,
glue,
paper cutter,
a Kinder surprise egg
and of course one of the cute Simply Sassy images.
I used
Bad Hare Day
here since she and her little bunny are the perfect choice for any easter project.
If you can´t get those Kinder surprise eggs where you are (I know that they are not allowed in a few countries like the US) - we have plastic eggs of the same size here that can be opened and filled so I am sure you´ll find something else that will fit.

Cut a square piece of cardstock measuring 4 1/2" x 4 1/2" (11,5 x 11,5 cm) and score
each side at 1" (2,5 cm).
each side at 1" (2,5 cm).
Make a cut at the scored lines on two opposite sides of the square until you reach the crossing
scoring line.
Then cut out a hole of ca. 1 5/8" (4 cm) out of the center. I used some round Nestabilities here but you can use whatever you have.
scoring line.

Cut a strip of cardstock measuring 2 1/2" x 7" (6,5 x 18,5 cm) and score at 2 1/4" ( 6 cm) from both ends.
Punch/cut a 1 1/4" (3,2 cm) circle out of the middle of the paper strip.
Put together the bottom part from the square piece of cardstock as you would put together any kind of box. Then cover the box and the cardstock strip with some patterned paper. It´s enough to cover only two opposite sides of the box since the other ones will be covered from the cardstock strip.
Place the egg in the hole of the box and put some sticky strip on both ends of the
cardstock strip.
cardstock strip.
Put the cardstock strip over the egg so its top goes into the hole and fix both ends to your box. Make sure your paper on the top is quite straight and not bend downwards too much.
All that is left to do now is to add some decoration, a little sentiment and of course your stamped image.
I think that Sugar Nellie Simply Sassy image is just the perfect size for this project and I love how easy they can be cut out.
These are the markers I used for the coloring:
Hope you like this little tutorial and give it a try since it´s really fast to make.
If there are any questions please feel free to ask.
