Here for you...

Good Evening Sassy fans, I hope you are all well?
How excited are you about the next release and blog hop???
Take it from me... the new stamps are AMAZING!!
not long to wait now till you get your first peeks....

Today I'd like to share a card I've made using Luv a Latte   I think she's definitely 'up there' in my top 3 Sassy's ... She's so fun to colour!

I've coloured her with promarkers and pencils...
The papers are a mix of different MME and Prima
The little tabs at the bottom are just punched circles cut in half... I stamped a teeny heart on each of them for a bit of interest.
The little swirls of steam coming from her 'cuppa' is from a small mug of hot chocolate stamp I had in my stash, I just inked the bits I wanted....
I did the same with the Sentiment stamp, which is actually a postage stamp design, I just inked the wording....
I added a few flowers and a couple of ribbon tabs... and did a bit of doodling to finish...

and thats it really...

Thanks for stopping by today!

Tuesday Spotlight...

This Tuesday we have sweet Lisa in our spotlight

And she made this beautiful card for us ♥♥

*Start by telling us a little about you:
I’m Lisa, and I live in Sheffield with my husband and 2 young sons – oh, and one spoilt cat :o)

*When did you start card making and what made you start?
I've always been fairly crafty, starting out with knitting and embroidery as a child. Then 4 yrs ago, after a normal full term pregnancy, we had a stillborn son. For a few months I went to pieces, work (kindly) offered me voluntary redundancy as I couldn't have gone back and eventually I needed something to fill my days while our eldest son was at school. I wandered into Hobbycraft, picked up a card making magazine and the obsession began! I think I was convinced making my own cards would actually save us money, but I dread to think how much I've spent over the years! Cardmaking has kept me going though when I've had some very low days, so it's been worth every penny, and I now have a great 'hobby' that I don't think I'll ever get bored of.

*What is your preferred coloring medium?
I nearly always colour with promarkers, but I often add a bit of shading using koh-i-noor pencils.

*What is your fav Simply Sassy stamp?
That's a really difficult one! I like lots of them, for all different reasons, but I do have a bit of a soft spot for Bella Bunting.

*How did you notice the Simply Sassy stamps the first time?
I’m going to be totally honest – when I saw the first set of Simply Sassy stamps on the Sugar Nellie blog, I wasn’t sure if I liked them!… however, once I’d seen them around blogland for a while I fell in love with them and bought all of the second set when it was released.

*What is your favourite style (card making)?
I love all different styles, but I’m a fairly CAS cardmaker myself… I really admire people who make beautifully embellished designs, because they just don’t come naturally to me at all.

*And what would you love to see more of at the Simply Sassy blog?
I think it’s just right as it is – lots of lovely regular inspiration and I love that Simply Sassy fans get a chance to be in the spotlight too.

I want to show you some of the beautiful Sassy card from her blog too, but you need to go over there and see the rest for your self ;)

Thank you so much Lisa for letting us Spotlight you and getting to know you ♥

Please leave Lisa some L♥VE

Hi Sassy chicks, how are you enjoying your weekend so far? Mine is great, I'm visiting my family "down south" (hahaha, not a very big country but still four hours by train :o)) and we're celebrating some birthdays (my sister and nephew) so it's not a good weekend for dieting, let me put it that way...

Anyway, for your Sunday inspiration I have this monochromatic card to share with you. You know how sometimes you don't know which design paper to choose? I'm tellin' you, there's no such thing as too much stash but it can get overwhelming can't it ;o) Well, then just grab some cardstock and use your embossing folders to create your own design!

Hope you'll give this a go, it's fun, easy and gets great results!

round and round and something sweet

Happy friday Simply Sassy friends! Nice to see you here!

Today I have a round card to share with you - that´s what inspired me to this title. Actually I am having a really hard time picking post titles.LOL

This is the last stamp I haven´t used from the last release - right in time for our new release blog hop tomorrow! I hope you all have marked your calendars!

To me this

Vintage Boutique

stamp is kind of timeless. First I was thinking about making a fashion themed card but then I ended up with this idea. I really love how she could be colored in pink and black for a "emo" card or - like I did - in sepia tones to make her look vintage.

I distressed all the papers with Distress Ink Walnut Stain, just a bit for a little worn out look. And to soften the whole look a bit I added a half round paper doily. I got those at a wedding area of the Dollar Store and they are huge. So I only used a half one here.
I went with a flower, a bit of film strip, a piece of lace and that keyhole to embellish the card. It´s pretty simple but I really love it!

The coloring was done with Copics - these are the numbers I used:

And I also want to share a popsicle card I made last week:

I used

Luv a Latte

here, that seems to be sold out at the moment. Since I wanted the image to match the card shape I replaced the coffee cup with that yummy looking ice cream. Later I got the idea that I also could have hand drawn the ice onto the cup in her hand...
Sorry for the bad pic but somehow I wasn´t able to get a good one of this card, no matter how hard I tried. ;o)

So, hope to see you all tomorrow for our blog hop!

Scrunched Flower Tutorial

Hi there again this week,

I have pondered over what to create for you but with the dreadful news I received last week I have had to create something simple for you, although I love the result.  By the way don't forget Maria posted a challenge for you HERE.  If you use any of the tutorials from this site you could win a prize.

Today, I wanted to show you how to create the scrunched flower and this is what you will need.

3 Punches or Dies
Doublesided cardstock
Mini Mister filled with water
Brads
Ink if liked
Heatgun

Punch 4 large, 3 medium and 3 small Flowers, I have used punches for this tutorial but I have also used Dies, so experiment with whatever you have available

You will need to pierce a hole in the centre of each flower.  I tend to do this individually as it you do it when all 10 are together it can be quite hard to pierce through.

Ink the edges if you like this style, bear in mind that once we add the water the ink will spread, but I love the look of this.  Add your brad to the centre

Spray the flower with the water mister and fold up each petal to the centre.  The more scrunchier the better, so don't worry about being particular.

It will look like this. You can either use your heat gun and gently unravel the petals and heat or you can leave it to dry naturally.

I used the centre petals closed.  You could add a pearl centre and some glimmer mist for that sheen and sparkle finish.

For the smaller ones I used 4 medium flower punches and 4 small and followed the same procedure.

Voila!

And here's a card I made earlier using this technique.

Tuesday Spotlight

Hiya Sassy Fans,

As you Maria is MIA for the next few weeks, waving hi to you Maria and wishing you well, so I'm looking after the spotlights for the next 3 weeks and I'd like to introduce you to one of my fellow teamies Vicky Pass.  Vicky is an avid Sugar Nellie fan and just look what she has made especially for us,  Wowzers:-

And here's a little bit about Vicky:-

Start by telling us a little about you:
I'm Vicky & I've been married to Craig since I was 16 & we are the proud owners of 3 children, 2 blue ones & 1 pink one. The boys are 20 & 15 & my daughter is nearly 19 & suffers with severe cerebral palsy so requires 24 hour care so thats my full time job lol. My eldest also has a baby on the way so we are to be grandparents at the end of the year which we are soooo excited about.

When did you start card making and what made you start?
I started card making last April 2010 I had never been into crafts at all but there was a lot going on in the family & I had also lost my dad so needed something to occupy me. It was March & I came across a blog.........I had no idea what promarkers were, Magnolia I thought was just a colour & I thought Sugar Nellie was a sweetie or choccy lol. I brought some promarkers beginning of April a couple of Sugar Nellie stamps & some others & that was it........hook, line & sinker. I cant believe a year has passed already.......my hubby is also happy as it means I dont want to keep redecorating now lol.

What is your preferred coloring medium?
I'm addicted to Copics altho I spent most of my first year using promarkers but I do prefer Copics now. Altho I also like to use prisma pencils & distress inks......I like to be able to use any of the mediums, its incase I ever get bored lol.

What is your fav Simply Sassy stamp?
WOW......thats a toughie, how do I choose one? I will say Fairytale cus she was the 1st one I fell in love with & I'm still in love with her.......

How did you notice the Simply Sassy stamps the first time?
On the Sugar Nellie blog, it was one of the first blogs I ever followed.....Sugar Nellie was my first ever stamp... I brought them on day of release & have done ever since lol.

What is your favourite style (card making)?
I really dont have a style I prefer it that way I make what I'm in the mood to make & I like to think outside the box & try new things all the time......I dont like to get stuck in a comfort zone lol. My brain tends to go into overdrive all the time lol.

And what would you love to see more of at the Simply Sassy blog?
To be honest I think its fab the way it is & now I think its great you adding tutorials on making things, I love to see what else can be made with card & paper.
So if its not broke dont fix it girls lol.........

And after having a nose through Vicky's blog here are some of her fabulous Simply Sassy's:-

Be sure to leave some Sassy Love and Thank you Vicky for allowing us to Spotlight you

Hugs Tracy x

Tuesday Spotlight on

This Tuesday we have a pleasure to spotlight Sassy fan
And she has got a gorgeous card for us made wit the sweet
I just love the beautiful colors and pretty coloring.

Start by telling us a little about yourself:
I am a Scot living in North London, married to my soul mate, have two grown-up kids and two wonderful young cats. I suffer from Degenerative Disc Disease in my neck and have had recent major surgery to try to delay the degeneration process. I am also an Ovarian Cancer survivor and a strong believer that ALL women need to be aware of the symptoms of this horrid disease. Details on my blog under Ovacome website. I enjoy crafting, walking, gardening, reading, listening to music and the theatre - especially singalong musicals where I can get up and dance along too!

When did you start card making and what made you start?
I have only been card making for about three years so am relatively new to this addictive craft! I only came across it by chance - I was off work ill with a long-term degenerative condition and was channel-hopping, discovered Create & Craft and was addicted. I no longer follow the channel but cannot get thru a day without a crafting fix and some blogging.

What is your preferred Colouring medium?
Easily seen to be my Promarkers but, with the help of the fabulous Kerrie (Pickle), I am hoping to get into Prisma pencils very soon. I think several Simply Sassy stamps would love to be coloured by these pencils.

What is your favourite Simply Sassy stamp?
I simply cannot answer this question as they are all stunning - I have to say tho that I am LOVING the look of Set 7 - slightly more grown up look about them so more suited to 'the older woman'! Lots of the SS stamps remind me of when I was in my late teens and dressed in those long hippy skirts that collected all the dust from the pavements!

How did you first notice the Simply Sassy stamps for the first time?
I am a keen follower of Funky Kits and Sugar Nellie and just happened upon them one day I was browsing there.........my home town is actually where Funkykits are located so the added bonus is that when I go home soon, I will be able to visit the HOS and stock up on them all!!

 What is your favourite style?
I don't think I have a favourite style as I like to try new things from time to time, so I tend to make the cards to fit in with the stamps/images that I use. These Simply Sassy stamps are ideal for 'playing' with and look perfect on a 'busy' card or a Clean and Simple card.

What would you like to see more of on the Simply Sassy blog?
Well....I think there is a Simply Sassy Challenge on a certain social network site that I refuse to visit so I would love to see a regular challenge here so that all us Simply Sassy followers could play away the hours getting ideas from one another because isn't that what crafting is all about?

I would just like to add a MASSIVE thank you to Maria and the girls for letting me be in the spotlight today - it is a huge pleasure for me and a great honour too!

Sheila:)X

Tuesday spotlight on..

This Tuesday we have Carisa in the spotlight an boy does she make some gorgeous cards!
This is the card she made for us
Here she has used Luv A Latte

*Start by telling us a little about you:
I married my high school sweetheart 10 yrs ago and right now I am a stay at home mom to 3 amazing kiddos. My oldest is in kindergarten, my 2nd is 4 and my youngest is 1 yr. They definately keep me busy but I somehow manage to find time to stamp and color in between! Besides stamping, I love to read any chance I can - mostly fiction. We live in Colorado right now, but I grew up in Florida. In fact, I'd never lived anywhere else till I moved out to Texas when I was 18 to live with my boyfriend now hubby!

*When did you start card making and what made you start?
I started about 2 yrs ago. I went to a LSS that was having a Stamping Bella release party with make n takes. I met Angela who introduced me to Copics, bought my first pair E00, E21 and really the addiction hasn't ended! When I found out you could COLOR stamped images, well, I knew it was going to be a life long relationship! I had always loved coloring as a kid, had tons and tons of coloring books and those big boxes of crayola's with every color imaginable. After that, I realzied that stamping and card making made me HAPPY! I love sitting down with a black and white image and seeing it come to life with color. It's like magic and it's good for the soul!

*What is your preferred coloring medium?
Definitely, hands down, COPICS!!! I love that these markers make anyone look like a coloring genius!!! It's like the adult version of my Crayola's as a kid. :D

*What is your fav Simply Sassy stamp?
That is an impossible question to answer! I honestly love them all. I really adore Luv A Latte because I'm a serious coffee drinker!! The card I made for today's post is my FAVORITE! But I really can't wait to get my hands on new favorites like Bad Hare Day, Windswept & Hippie Love!

*How did you notice the Simply Sassy stamps the first time?
I do believe I blame, or, credit my Make It Colourful DT sistah Tracy for this new obsession!!! When I saw them on her blog I just HAD to have them and I think I bought my first Simply Sassy stamps that day or the next.

*What is your favourite style (card making)?
This is a question I do NOT know how to answer! I think I am starting to find my own style now after 2 yrs of experimenting and something I have admitted recently is that I am one chick that is ridiculously addicted to pretty pattern papers! I love picking out my paper and coloring an image to match! One thing that I am seeing a lot on my cards is distressing - I love tearing the edges of my paper and inking them to add texture to my card.

*And what would you love to see more of at the Simply Sassy blog?
I actually love that you have an inspiration only blog! It's awesome to come each day and see a new DT member sharing a Simply Sassy stamp. I also love that you spotlight your fans - it's the ultimate compliment!

It was so much fun digging into Carisa's blog to show off some gorgeous Sassy cards!!

Using Laid back dude

 Using Fashionista

 Using Hippie chick

Thank you so much for letting us Spotlight you and showing off your beautiful cards!
And I know Carisa  will love any comment you leave her!
