Simply Illuminating...

Hello Sassy fans! How are you today? I'm still boiling up over in my neck of the woods(supposed to be 110 degrees today), so I'm a little suprised I thought of this, but I wanted to create something fun and Christmasy and this...

...pretty little candle is what I came up with. I used the adorable 'Secret Santa' for this one and as an added plus I've used a battery operated candle so it's perfect for girls of all ages! I love being able to beautify my own candles and using battery operated candles gives you even more options.

I decided to go with your basic red and green this time around and I even colored those flowers to match! I really couldn't decide which was the best pic, so here's a couple more views...

I really love this flowery trim I got from my local craft store and it was so nice that I was able to split it up and use it in my flowers as well...I'm all about symmetry, lol.

I put those little rhinestones in a pattern all the way around the candle and here's a rear view so you can see that...

Ok, well that does it for me. If you haven't done one of these before you really ought to, they are so much fun  and really quick and easy to make....just stamp on the non-shiny side of tissue paper, color(place something under tissue to catch color that goes thru), place on candle then cover with wax paper and heat with a heat gun until colors darken(don't hold gun too close), then remove wax paper and decorate as desired. Mine took a little longer than expected, but only because I was trying to put a rub-on on and it wasn't working, don't know why, I've done it before. Anyway, I hope you like it and I've inspired you to give it a go. If you do, let me know I'd love to see what you make.

Thanks for stopping by!
Have a great day!

  4. Love the traditional colours - this reminds me of the Scandinavian Christmas candles. Love the rhinestones & the trim around the base.
