Oh I am so excited today as I have found a very talented lady to be the first to be spotlighted on the Simply Sassy blog. Let's hear a big yayyyyyyyyyyyyy for Zoe from Make it Crafty. Zoe blames me for getting her into these stamps, lol. If you don't know Zoe, here's a little bit about her:-
From as long as I can remember I have been drawing and making things with my hands. I was never really into dolls but I loved to make them houses out of cardboard boxes! My school projects were always covered in big colourful headings and pictures and from my early teens I wanted to be a graphic artist. I eventually pursued a career in Web Design and Consulting and now I have pursued my other passion and have an Australian online craft store.
I became interested in card making at the age of 15 when I bought my very first rubber stamp. I have gone through phases over the years and was generally a stamper until early in 2010 when I discovered Copic Markers. I had absolutely no idea what I was doing, and had no idea that there were different styles of copics. I actually begun buying ‘original’ markers and couldn’t understand why I couldn’t achieve the results I was seeing on YouTube. Eventually I picked up some sketch markers from a show and my world changed. I am however happy I started with the Original markers as I believe that the technique I learned with them helped form my colouring techniques with sketch today.
I would say I am just a little addicted to colouring and most likely too much of a perfectionist. However I find it a great excuse to ‘switch off’ and relax and trying to imagine what the illustrator was thinking when they drew the image and bringing an image to life is very rewarding for me.
We all have our own interpretation of how we see an image come to life, so please remember that there is never any wrong or right way to colour an image.
Now I have two cards of Zoe's to show off, they are both awesomely coloured to perfection, the first up is Simply Sassy's "FairyTale" available from FunkyKits HERE:-
This is my favourite colour blue.
Just look at the detail in that bow. Doesn't she look stunning!
Zoe's second card is Simply Sassy's "Windswept" available right HERE, and boy does she look good in Red, totally stunning card I'm sure you'll agree.
Wow, just look at that hair!
Im sure your all just in awe of Zoe's colouring and want to know how she does it. Well you won't have to wait too long as I have an extra special treat for you, yep a video from Zoe colouring the beautiful flowing hair of "Windswept".
Here's what Zoe has to say about the video:-
I hope you enjoy the video I have created to share with you today. Colouring
hair is one of my favourite areas on a character and these ‘Simply Sassy’
images have GREAT HAIR to play, experiment and have fun with.
